: Tuticorin collectorate has been equipped with water purifier (reverse osmosis system) facility. State Bank of India (SME - Small Medium Enterprises branch Tuticorin) extended donor funding to augment the facility at a cost of Rs.63, 000.
Collector Ashish Kumar inaugurated the facility here on Wednesday in the presence of Assistant General Manager of the bank, T. Joseph Chandran, and his colleagues.
The new water purifier system, which has been installed on the first floor, has different temperature modes and the public could tap hot, normal and cold potable water.
Last year, similar facility was set up by the bank on the ground floor to benefit the public, Mr. Chandran said.
“Every year, the SBI donates one per cent of its previous year profit under community services banking to schools, hospitals and other places. This year it has donated 1,48,000 fans to 14,800 schools from its 14,800 branches across India.
